Gidgegannup Primary School is an independent public school and provides students with a creative and comfortable learning atmosphere. Located in Gidgegannup, our school has been shaping students’ minds since 1992. OUR HISTORY

Gidgegannup Primary School was opened in 1992 and is considered to be an outer Metropolitan school. It is located in the Shire of Swan and has a rural lifestyle with a blend of old farming and new hobby farms. The school is set in a tranquil setting on the outskirts of town backing onto a rural aspect. The classroom clusters are built on the contours of a hill using this elevation to advantage.

An attractive garden has been developed and it would be difficult to find a more idyllic position. The catchment area is rather widespread necessitating in a number of students travelling to school on one of five buses.

OUR COMMUNITY

A rich and inclusive learning environment is provided at Gidgegannup Primary School. The staff is committed, caring and experienced with little movement from year to year. There are specialist teachers in the areas of Art, Music, Science and Physical Education providing a variety of enriching programs for all students. Students in years 3, 4, 5 and 6 study Chinese through a video link with Beijing.

Parent involvement is welcomed and encouraged. Involvement is demonstrated through support in areas such as the library, classrooms and sport. Participative decision-making is possible through involvement in the School Board and Parents and Citizens' Association. The School Board is actively involved with the school planning and review processes.

Our motto, “Growth Through Endeavour”, supports the philosophy held by the Gidgegannup Primary School community that high expectations will be held for all of our students. We will support our students to achieve their best and to acquire the skills necessary to realise their full potential in life, socially, intellectually, emotionally and physically.
